of Helena, AL passed away on Friday, November 2, 2007. She was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother, grandmother, sister and friend. She was a member of Dawson Memorial Baptist Church. She was born January 4, 1925, in Shelby County, AL, and was the first child and only daughter of Roy Virgil Robinson and Nellie Lowery Robinson James. She attended Thompson High School. During her working career, she was employed as Executive Assistant of the Birmingham Rotary Club and Secretary/Treasurer of Birmingham Area Alliance of Business. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 39 years, Guy Ellis Miles; brother, Lloyd Henry Robinson of Alabaster; stepfather, Marvin Buce James of Alabaster; and stepsister, Joyce James Ledford of Albany, GA. She is survived by her daughter and best friend, Toni Turrentine Cox and son-in-law, James Walter Cox of Helena; grandson, Taylor James Cox (Ashley) of Alabaster; brother, Floyd "Buck" Robinson of Taylors, SC; sister-in-law, Beck Robinson of Alabaster; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and beloved pet, "Sugarfoot". The family will receive friends on Wednesday, November 7, 2007, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel, Hwy 150, Hoover. A memorial service will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel. The family would like to extend their deep appreciation for the care and compassion of the staff members of UAB Division of Oncology, Brookwood Medical Center's Cancer Center, 3 West Nursing, and Amedisys Hospice Services. Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
