H.E. Blackstock

H.E. "SHORTY" BLACKSTOCK, of Hoover, passed away Thursday, April 8, 2010 after an extended illness. He was a member of Rocky Ridge Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Katherine Blackstock, and his son, H.E. "Butch" Blackstock, Jr. He is survived by his daughter, Linda Alhorkosi (Jason); grandsons, Michael Wright (Lena) and Tod Hobbs (Lisa); sister, Miss Peggy Blackstock; special nephew, Bud Mosley (Phyliss); and two great granddaughters, Alexis Wright and Autumn Wright. The family will receive friends from 12:30 - 2:00 PM, Friday, April 9, 2010, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Graveside service will follow at 2:00 PM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Jim Profetto officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Michael Wright, Bud Mosley, Artie Childs, J.C. Earnest, Jason Alhorkosi, and Greg Kartens.
