Hazel Hicks

Hazel Hicks, 84, of Birmingham, AL went to be with her Lord on June 18, 2016. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was retired from EMC Ins. and had worked in the commercial insurance business in the Birmingham area for 40 years. She loved playing golf and spending time with her family. She was preceded in death by her husband; James G. Hicks. She is survived by her sister; Grace McCrory, sons; Bob Hood (Cindy) and Rusty Hicks (Jeannette), grandchildren; Marcus Hood (Lauren), Ashley Gunn (Geoff), Amanda Hood, Brittney Clay (Jon Ross), and Ryan Hicks and her great-grandchildren; Max Gunn, Liddie Gunn, Macy Hood, and Fynleigh Clay. The family will receive friends on Monday, June 20, 2016 from 12-1pm with the funeral services following at 1pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Burial will take place in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South on Hwy 150 in Hoover, AL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. www.alz.org
