Harry Torre

Mr. Harry Keatley Garcia De La Torre, 91, of Birmingham, passed away on Friday, June 7, 2013. He was a member and Deacon at North Shelby Baptist Church where he loved his church family. He was born in Mayaguez Puerto Rico to Dr. and Mrs. Felix Garcia de la Torre. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama and received his law degree from the Birmingham School of Law. He was legal counsel for the Jack Cole Trucking Company and was the founder of Tower Realty Company. He also enjoyed teaching real estate classes at Jefferson State Jr. College. He was a member of the Mt. Brook Elks Lodge where he held the highest office. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. He loved his children dearly but it "broke his heart" to see them attend Auburn University. He is survived by his wife of 62 years, Nelda de la Torre; son, Keat de la Torre (Carolyn); daughter, Lori Norton (Bill); grandchildren, Trace de la Torre (Amy), Carrie Norton, Ivey de la Torre, Katie Norton and Mark Norton; niece, Lillie Holland and nephew, Fred Martinez. Funeral services will be on Thursday, June 13, 2013 at 2 PM at the North Shelby Baptist Church with burial to follow in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family will receive friends from 12 PM until 2 PM at the church. The family would like to express a sincere thank you to Alacare Hospice, Evercare Hospice and the caregivers at Mt.
