Harriett Richardson

February 9, 1958 — January 31, 2023

A loving mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and soror, Harriett Powell Richardson departed this life and will be remembered for her generosity, her sense of humor, and love of God. She accepted Christ at an early age and held fast to her faith throughout her life. Harriett received her Bachelor’s of Biology from Tuskegee University (ne’ Institute) where she became a member of the Gamma Tau Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. Harriett also received a Bachelor’s of Cytology from the University of Alabama at Birmingham and an additional Bachelor’s of Pharmacy from Xavier University. A devoted professional, Harriett was a Clinical Pharmacist for over 30 years. Her unforgettable sense of humor was often witty and uncanny, but always tactful, compassionate, and intended to encourage. Harriett was preceded in death by her father Henry Powell. She is survived by her mother Susie Powell, two sons Clinton(Quin) and Stephen, siblings Carlton(Edna), Cynthia(Fred), and Curtis, two grand-daughters Zoey and Madison, and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will begin at 11:00 A.M. on Saturday, February 18, 2023 at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel, 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL  35244
