Harold W. Wallace, beloved husband, father and grandfather, died surrounded by his family at his home in Birmingham, AL on February 3, 2016. Harold was born in Montgomery, AL on August 26, 1944. He served our country in the US Navy Reserves, spending two years stationed aboard the USS Intrepid. Harold joined the Montgomery Fire Department in 1967 and served as a fire fighter and arson investigator. He retired as a Captain from the fire department in 1988.
Harold is preceded in death by his father, Byron, mother, Ann and brother, Robert, all of Wetumpka, AL. Harold is survived by his wife of fifty years, Marcella; two sons, Patrick and Michael (Kim); and four grandchildren, Courtney, Hunter, Olivia and William.
Visitation will be held at 10 AM, Monday, February 8, 2016, at Our Lady of the Valley Catholic Church, Birmingham, AL, immediately followed with a funeral Mass at 11:00 concelebrated by Monsignor Charles Troncale and Monsignor Paul Rohling. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Montgomery, AL at 3 pm.
The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the staff of Hope Hospice for the loving care they provided Harold. It was Harold’s wish that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
