of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, December 20, 2007, at the age of 78. He was born and reared in Crossville, AL and attended Auburn University. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Harold was retired from Celetex Corporation and U. S. Steel Corporation in Fairfield, AL. He as a christian and served on the active deacon board for many years at Hillview Baptist Church in Forestdale, AL. He currently was a member of Valleydale Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Wallace I. Harrelson and Zuma Black Harrelson, and a brother, Royal C. Harrelson. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mary Matthews Harrelson; two sons, Stanley D. Harrelson of New York, NY and Terry L. Harrelson of Montevallo; a brother, Jay Barnard Harrelson of Tucson, AZ; a sister, Sallie H. McFarland of Selma, AL; three nephews, Charles, James and Greg Harrelson; and five nieces, Sandy Beavers, Gwen Osborn, Jan Harrelson Walker, Jennifer Harrelson Wilson and Becky McFarland. The family will receive friends on Saturday, December 22, 2007, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 11 AM in the funeral home chapel, with Dr. Calvin Kelly officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the International Mission Board, c/o Valleydale Baptist Church, 2324 Valleydale Rd., Birmingham, AL 35244 (205) 995-5282.
