of Montevallo, passed away on Tuesday, December 20, 2011 at the age of 82. He was a member of Centerpoint First Baptist Church and attended Montevallo First Baptist Church. He was a member and past Master of the Masonic Lodge #872 in Centerpoint and a Shriner with Zamora Shrine Temple. A graduate of West Blocton High School, Mr. Arnold served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He is preceded in death by his wife, Annette Arnold, parents, Matt and Bertha Arnold, and sister, Flo (Carnell) Bailey. He is survived by his companion of 31 years, Betty Crowe; his children, Denise A. Wells, Mike Arnold and DeVon A. McDaniel (Robert); grandchildren, Adam Wells, Kevin Wells, Renee Wells, Brian Purvis, Jeremy Purvis (Brittany), Matt Purvis, Jeff McDaniel (Aimee) and Traci Moore (Jimmy); great grandchildren, Chandler Purvis, Gavin McDaniel, Kylee Moore and Carson Moore; a brother, Norman Arnold (Cyndi); sisters, Ruth Thompson (Dalton), Shirley Lewis (Bill), Brenda Dial (Eddie) and Linda Cox (Jesse); and a host of nieces, nephews and many friends. The family will receive friends on Friday, December 23, 2011 from 2 to 3 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 3 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Terry Sutton officiating. Entombment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
