Harold Freeman

Harold Dean Freeman of Gardendale, Alabama passed away Thursday, May 11, 2023. He was 85 years old.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Emil Dean and Jimmie Nell Freeman; by his wife, Betty Sue Freeman; his son, Jeff Freeman; his brother, Ray Freeman; his sisters, Betty Jean Rayburn and JoAnn Smith. He is survived by his sons, Rodney Freeman and Phillip Freeman; Daughter in Law's, Renee Freeman, Sandy Freeman and Ann Freeman. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren; April (Todd)Watson, Brandon (Kim) Freeman, Amber (Ryan) Rizzo, Candace (Clark) Gary, Derek (Arianna) Freeman, and 10 great-grandchildren. Brother Charlie (Betty) Freeman, sisters Judy Vaulot and Roberta (Frankie) Beck.

Harold (or Deany, as many called him) loved the Lord. He was a faithful member of North Gardendale Baptist Church. He loved singing about Jesus. He began his Ministry of Music at Thomas Baptist Church in the early 60's. He sang with multiple quartets, traveling to other churches for worship and praise. He played guitar, piano, and harmonica and wrote many many songs.
