Gwendolyn Pardue

of Birmingham, passed away on Thursday, April 14, 2005 at the age of 76. She was a teacher with the Birmingham City Board of Education at Minor Elementary School and retired after 30 years of service. Ms. Pardue was a very active member and past president of FDSK Club of Birmingham. She was a member of the Honorary Teacher's Sorority, Delta Kappa Gamma and KDPi and KDE. She was a lifetime member of the Civil Air Patrol, Birmingham Sailing Club and Birmingham Aero Club. A devoted wife of 53 years, she was preceded in death by her husband, William O. Pardue. Ms. Pardue is survived by her two daughters, Diane P. Bersanti (Jerald), of Piedmont and Mara K. McClure (Joseph) of Birmingham; eight grandchildren and 1 great grandchild. The family will receive friends on Friday, April 15, 2005 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, April 16, 2005 at 2:00 pm in the funeral home chapel with Randy Pardue officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
