Gwendolyn Fritze

Gwendolyn Elinor Mason Fritze passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 after a brief illness with her four children by her bedside. She was predeceased by her husband, Richard Fritze and her grandson, Patrick Fritze
She is survived by sons Russell Fritze (Terri), Ron Fritze (Cheryl), daughters Becky Settles (Mark), Amy Stewart (Clay). Also surviving are grandchildren Katie Marden (Brad), Robert Fritze, Adam Settles, Tyler Settles (Chelsey), Sara Stewart, Kaitlyn Stewart and her brother Russell Mason (Jinny).
She was born to Vesta and Frank Mason on November 7th, 1932, in Peoria, Illinois. She graduated from Bradley University and taught school for two years before raising her four children. Gwen and Dick lived in the Chicago area before moving to Louisville, Kentucky and subsequently to Birmingham where they lived for forty years.
She was a wonderful mother and will be missed by her friends and family.
Visitation will be at 10:00 on Thursday, November 12 at Saint Marks Methodist Church with a memorial service at 11:00, followed by a graveside service at Currie-Jefferson Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Saint Mark United Methodist Church 2901 Columbiana Rd, Vestavia Hills, AL 35216
