Keeney, Grafton E. "Lindy", age 83, passed away July 9, 2010, in Birmingham, AL. He was born in Beltsville, MD, in 1927. Mr. Keeney, the beloved husband of Catherine Krause Keeney (Bessemer, AL), is also survived by son Mike and grandsons Michael John, Calvin, and Drew Keeney (Lorena,TX); son Rob, daughter-in-law Barb (Smith), grandsons Daniel and Stephen Keeney (Atlanta, GA); daughter Marsha, son-in-law David, and grandchildren Noah and Rynnie Henderson (Pinson, AL); son Don Keeney (TX); son Brian, daughter-in-law Carol (Smoot), and grandchildren Jordan and Elizabeth Keeney (Cockeysville, MD); son Scott Keeney and partner Frank Graves (New York, NY), and many nephews and nieces. Brother of Pat Grim (Woodstock, MD) and Jane Warner (Bel Air, MD). Mr. Keeney graduated 1946 from Baltimore City College HS; served in the U.S. Army in occupied Germany '46-47; graduated Baylor Univ. ('51), Southern Baptist Theological Seminary ('55), U. MD Sch. of Social Work ('67). He served as pastor of Hebron Baptist Church (Afton, VA, '55-60) and Immanuel Baptist Church (Baltimore, '60-64). He was Dir. of Assembled Families at the Methodist Board of Child Care (Baltimore '69-87). He was a leader of Royal Ambassador groups. Memorial service at Baptist Church of the Covenant, Birmingham, AL, Sunday, July 25, at 3 pm, visitation at 2 pm. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Organ Fund of Bapt. Church of the Covenant, 2117 University Blvd, B'ham, AL, 35233, or Baylor Univ. Annual Fund, One Bear Place, #97050, Waco, TX 76798.
