Gloria Townsend

of Hoover, formerly of Graysville, passed away on Thursday, November 23, 2006, at the age of 67. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hoover and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.She was preceded in death by her parents Ollie and Evelyn Harkey, a grandson William Matthew Townsend and a sister, Rebecca Harkey. Mrs. Townsend is survived by a son, Bill Townsend; a daughter, Rhonda Buckner (Pat); 3 grandchildren, Katie Townsend, Tiffany Thompson (Brandon) and Sabrina Buckner; a great grandson, Noah Thompson; 2 brothers, David Harkey (Jan) and Ray Harkey (Anita); a sister, Patsy Berry (Jack); and many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 26, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be on Monday, November 27, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Dr. Randy Atkinson and Rev. Pat Buckner officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
