Glenn Kennedy

of Hoover, passed away on Sunday, March 11, 2012 at the age of 90. He was a U.S. Army veteran of WWII. He was a charter member of Shades Mountain Independent Church and more recently attended McCalla Bible Church. Mr. Kennedy retired from McCullough Oil Company after 40 years service. He loved his bride of 64 years and was a very loving and giving father and grandfather. He was preceded in death by 2 grandchildren, Kevin and Geoffrey. He is survived by his wife, Vira Sykes Kennedy; 2 sons, Larry Kennedy(Carol) and Gary Kennedy (Janey); 2 daughters, Dianne Schmitt (Phillip) and Susan Roberts (Jim); 9 grandchildren, David, Joey, Jared, Alan, Jesse, Logan, Joey, Becca and Charis; and 4 great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 13, 2012 from 5 to 7 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will be on Wednesday, March 14, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Jay Jackson officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
