Glen Mears

Mr. Glen Mears, of Hoover, originally from Paulsboro, NJ, passed away at home with his family on Sunday, May 26, 2013, at the age of 82. Glen retired from Bruno's as an executive after a career in the grocery business, which started as a clerk when he was 16 years. He was an avid golfer and member of the Chace Lake Country Club. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Stoffregen Mears; son, Glen Mears, Jr.; daughter, Karen Wojtala (John); grandson, Jonathan Day; and step-daughters, Sheri Davis and Sheryl Stoffregen; and step-grand-children, Logan Davis, Hunter Leeth, Danielle Davis, Michael Spradlin, and Brookelynn Stoffregen. The family will receive friends from 10:30-11:30, Wednesday, May 29, 2013, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral service will follow at 11:30 in the funeral home chapel, Dr. Michael Wesley officiating. Mr. Mears will be interred next to his wife of 54 years, Eleanor Mears, in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Dr. James Barton, Dr. Mark Ricketts, and the care providers at Lakeside Hospice.
