Gladys Patton

of Alabaster, passed away on Sunday, April 17, 2011 at the age of 89. She was a lifelong member of Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church, where she taught Sunday School and was active in CPW for many years. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by a son, John L. Patton, Jr. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, John L. Patton; a daughter, Janice Kendrick (Tommy); 5 grandchildren, Angela Tatum (Kelly), Jay Patton (Sherry), Kristi Gulledge (James), Nathan Kendrick (Amy) & Josh Kendrick (Mairi); 8 great grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews and lifelong friends. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kevin Vanderlaan officiating. Burial will be in Croft Acton Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Rocky Ridge Cumberland Presbyterian Church Mortgage Fund, 2404 Altadena Rd., Birmingham, AL 35243.
