Gladys Banks Golden

GLADYS LOUISE BANKS GOLDEN of Concord passed away November 8th, 2023 at the age of 94. She was a loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother, and Great Grandmother. She retired from the R. L. Zeigler Company after 25 years of service.

She was preceded in death by her husband of more than 75 years, J. L. Golden, her parents, Bill and Minnie Banks, Infant brothers, Earl and Tearl Banks, sisters, Alice Banks, Elaine Banks, Ruth Milstead and Grace Hyche. She is survived by her sister, Billie Watkins, two daughters, Carol (Mike) Newell, and Gale (Steven) Sherer , 4 Grandchildren, Brian Newell, Jason (Wendy) Newell, Brandy (Matt) Sponsler, Candace (Hollis) Godsey, 7 Great Grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

We would like to thank all Mom’s wonderful caregivers from the Hosmer Care Ministry, Beth and Donnie Hosmer, Denise Miller, Erika Cole, Jessica Hall, Amanda Robertson, Ali Nelson, Stephanie Burts, Kristen Oglesby and Debra Jones. Thanks also, to Compassus Hospice staff for their compassionate care.

Pallbearer are Brian Newell, Jason Newell, Shawn Sponsler, Matt Sponsler, Hollis Godsey, and Randy Lawley.

The Family will receive friends Tuesday, November 14th beginning at 11:00 am followed with a Chapel Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home.
