of Hoover, passed away on Thursday, September 15, 2005, at the age of 79. He served our country in the US Navy during WWII and retired from Allied Signal (Honeywell) after 41 years of service. Mr. Turner was a member of Hunter Street Baptist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Addie Turner; two sisters, Louise Chaffin and Grace Stanford;and a brother, Jack Turner. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Elendor Williams Turner; a son, Don Turner (Nina) of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Linda Campanotta (Joey) of Hoover; five grandchildren, Scott Turner (Melissa) of Jacksonville, FL, Daniel Turner (Angeli) of Jacksonville, FL and Gina, Natalie and Chris Campanotta all of Hoover; a great-granddaughter, Grace Ann Turner; three sisters, Elouise Young (Ted), Zadie Lee Cockrell and Effie Mae Davis; three brothers, James Turner (Dot), Clay Turner (Birdie) and Bill Turner (Pearlie). The family will receive friends on Saturday, September 17, 2005, from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, with Rev. Ed Massey officiating. Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home directing.
