George Knight

of Birmingham, passed away on Saturday, July 14, 2007, at the age of 61. He was a member of McNeil Baptist Church. He was a graduate of the University of Alabama with a BS in Chemistry and also received his MBA from UAB. Mr. Knight was an Enviromental Chemist with Barton Lab for the past 24 years and was previously employed with Zeigler Meats for 10 years. He was a beloved husband and father. He is survived by his wife of 33 years, Betty Parsons Knight; a son, Matthew Kevin Knight of Birmingham; a brother, Charles "Chuck" Knight (Judi) of Florissant, MO; a sister, Marion Newsome (Robert) of Hueytown; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, July 17, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Tom Fant officiating. Entombment will be in the Abbey Mausoleum at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
