94, of Pelham, AL, passed away Thursday, April 7, 2011. She is preceded in death by her husband, Spurgeon "Spud" Wheeler, a son, James B. Price, and all of her brothers and sisters, Madison Eugene Dill of Americus, GA, Barbara Lee Dill Myers of Huntsville, AL, Olan Aaron Dill of Jasper, AL, and Julius Cullen Dill of Jasper, AL. She is survived by a son, David Wheeler. Geneva was a graduate of the Eldridge Baptist Academy of Eldridge, AL. "Needie", as her immediate family called her, spent her life enjoying working in a flower shop. Her mother, Ethel Blanche Sides Dill, taught her children a love for flowers that affected everyone in the family. The entire family was involved in the flower business in some part of their life, either in a shop or a nursery. In the next part of her life, after business in a flower shop, she developed a love for real estate. "Needie" could always find a bargain in a house. She and her husband, "Spud", spent a few years fixing it up into a show place, then selling it and moving on to the next one. She had a collection of house keys she proudly displayed and explained there was a key for every house they had ever owned. "Needie" was always generous to her family. A friendly mealtime together and there was talk about the Bible, local preachers and what you were doing with your life and always, always about children. With these family sessions there was always "advice from Needie" which no one was able to escape a good dose of down home wisdom, which only "Needie" could deliver. Geneva always had a good mind for business and many family members would come by for her wisdom and guidance. Her guiding wisdom and loving hand has now been silenced and will be missed by everyone who knew her. The family will receive friends Friday, April 8, 2011, from 5-7 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Services will be Saturday at 10 AM also at the funeral home and interment will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
