Franklin Selman

Mr. Franklin Selman, age 77, of Vestavia, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 12, 2011. He was born to Lacy and Vera Selman in Bessemer, AL December 29, 1933. He is preceded in death by two brothers, Robert and Jimmy Selman and two sisters, Sue Lanier and Peggy Jones. He served in the U. S. Army. He was a member of Shades Mountain Baptist Church where he was a member of the Kline Sunday School Class whom he loved dearly. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Jean Latta Selman; daughter, Pam (Glen) Roy; grandson, Trey Smitherman; two brothers, Harold (Martha) Selman and Walter (Nelda) Selman; two sisters, Shirley (Eugene) Thrasher and Kathleen (Manning) Colvin; several nieces, nephews and a host of friends. Mr. Selman was loved by many and will be dearly missed. The family will receive friends on Friday, January 14, 2011 from 12 until 2 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home with a service to begin at 2 pm in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in the Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
