age 72, of Riverview, FL, passed away on Monday, June 20, 2005 of a heart attack. He was born in Calcis, AL and settled in Riverview in 1982. He served in the U.S. Army as a tank driver and had just celebrated his 50th anniversary of his separation from the Army. He retired from Chevron Oil Company after 35 years of service and also from BP Oil Company. He joins his wife of 45 years, Betty Jo Laboone Newman (1935-2002), and his parents, Larkin & Selvia Newman of Harpersville, AL in Heaven. Survivors include his daughter, Kelly Langmead of Leesburg, VA and son, Philip Newman of Riverview, FL. He had 6 grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 24, 2005, from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover, with funeral services to follow at 3:00 p.m. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
