Frances Chambliss

Mrs. Frances Mote Chambliss, 85, passed away on January 19, 2013 surrounded by her family. She was a wonderful and loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family dearly and will be greatly missed. Frances was born to Arvie Lee and Erdys Mote on September 21, 1927, the third of six children; she greatly enjoyed telling stories of her childhood memories. She worked for most of her life as an ophthalmologist’s assistant. She spent her life serving her Lord and loved to spend time in church, studying her bible, and listening to gospel music, particularly the Gaithers. She was preceded in death by her husband of almost 50 years, Clay Chambliss, her parents, and her sister Belvia and brothers Pete, Donnie, and Billy. She is survived by her two children, Ben Chambliss (Susie) and Susan Coley (Steve), grandchildren Jacob Chambliss and Ashley Chambliss, her brother Kenneth Mote (Joyce), and sisters-in-law Joanne Mote and Mary Etheridge, in addition to many cousins, nephews, nieces, and a host of friends. The family requests that memorials be made to the Liberty Park Baptist Church missions fund: 12001 Liberty Parkway, Birmingham, AL 35242.
