Frances Baker

Frances Young Baker, age 92, loving mother, grandmother, wife and friend passed away May 6, 2017. She was the daughter of Nellie and Randall Young. Born in Birmingham, she graduated from Ensley High School and Howard College. She was a teacher for many years most of which were at Shades Mountain Elementary. Frances was married for 68 years to William "Bill" Baker. She was preceded in death by Bill, her sisters, Dorothy Roberts and Martha Davis.

Survivors include her son, Bill (Cecile) Baker; daughters, Jan (Pat) Roberson and Susan (Terry) Pickett; and five grandchildren, Josh Baker, John William Baker, Kelly Roberson, Jay (Tiffany) Roberson, Jill (Brandon) Walker.

Family will be receiving friends, Tuesday May 9, 2017, from 5:00-7:00 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover. Graveside service will be Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at Elmwood Cemetery at 1:00. For those that go on Wednesday we will meet at 12:45 at the gate with the round office and follow to the site or a guard at the office will give directions.
