On March 25, 2002, Florence A. Spain of Shannon AL - loving mother and grandmother - passed peacefully at home at the age of 89. Florence Aline Spain (Noble) born February 3rd, 1933 to Mattie and Judson Noble. She was married to James William Spain and they raised 5 children, Sandra S Baker, W. Doug Spain (Debbie), Debra S. Hammond (Scott), Joe Nathan Spain, and Rebecca S. Knox (Jody). She has several grandchildren, Jason Spain (Carol), Kristie Lynn Spain, Jimmy Hammond (Erin), Jonathan Hammond (Ashley), Justin Williford ( Tara), and Jessie A. Knox. Her great grands, Elias, Nora, Brining, and Lachlan Hammond, Baylee and Charlee Hammond, Allie Spain, Chloe, Landon, and Parker Williford.
Florence was a devoted Christian and long-time member of Shannon Baptist Church. She was loved by all. She had a sweet and thoughtful disposition. She always put others' needs before her own and loved the person for who they were. She never judged them for hardships they were facing but loved them through it. She was one of a kind. So lovable and caring with battles of her own, in which she carried with grace and many prayers. She loved with her whole heart and it radiated through her beautiful smile and embracing hugs. She will be truly missed by all that knew her.
A memorial service will be held Tuesday, March 29th at Currie-Jefferson Memorial Gardens on Hwy 150, John Hawkins Pkwy. The family will be receiving friends at 11 am followed by the funeral service at 12 pm.
