Evelyn Pflaum

June 20, 1930 — September 19, 2017


Evelyn Randich Pflaum, 87, passed away on September 19, 2017. She was a sweet and generous lady who loved God, her family, her precious pets, playing bridge and following her beloved Chicago Cubs. Her grandchildren brought her tremendous joy and were a huge part of her “golden years”. She was preceded in death by her parents, Frank and Amelia Jurisich Randich; brother, Ted Randich; and sister, Catherine Carter.

Evelyn is survived by her loving husband, John Benjamin “Jack” Pflaum; children, Tina Marie Pflaum of Birmingham, David John Pflaum and his wife Linde, of Brentwood, Tennessee, Keith James Pflaum and his wife, Tracy, of Birmingham, Brian Michael Pflaum and his wife, Suzette, of Hoover, and Mark John Pflaum and his wife, Sarah, of Mountain Brook; eight precious grandchildren, Adam Michael Pflaum, Landon Joseph Pflaum, Stephen Matthew Pflaum, Cara Elizabeth Pflaum, Brooke Alexandra Pflaum, Anna Lisa Carlisle Pflaum, John Benjamin “Jack” Pflaum, and Avery Elizabeth Pflaum; and many cherished nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend grateful appreciation to James Barton, M.D. for his special care; Nikki Wilson, LaTonya Williams, and Nancy Gotham of Visiting Angels; and Kayla Self and Angela Carter of Affinity Hospice for their loving care and compassion.

Funeral Service will be held on September 22, 2017, at Prince of Peace Catholic Church in Hoover. Visitation will be at 9 AM with a funeral Mass starting at 10 AM. Interment will be private at The Alabama National Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Prince of Peace Catholic Church or the Greater Birmingham Humane Society.
