Eugene Cagle

Mr. Eugene Curtis Cagle, age 91, died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, November 2, 2012, at his home in Hoover, AL. Mr. Cagle was born in Holly Springs, GA and moved to Birmingham in 1940. His love of cars provided him a long career in the car business. He was a member of Riverchase United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by two brothers, Joe and James Cagle. Mr. Cagle is survived by his wife of 69 years, Billie, his three children: Elizabeth "Liz" Haynie (Larry), Eugene "Gene" Curtis Cagle, Jr. (Patty), and Robert "Bobby" Harold Cagle; two granddaughters, Stephanie Dawn Haynie (Chad Polk) and Carrie Ann Kolb (Kyle); five great grandchildren, Lillie Ann and Ila Kate Kolb and Ethan, Nate, and Lauren Polk, his two sisters: Mrs. Mae Bailey and Mrs. Mary Ingram (Don) of Canton, GA, and numerous other family members and longtime friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, November 4, 2012, from 2-3:30 at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home. Funeral services will follow at 3:30 PM with entombment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South. In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Alzheimer's Association, P. O. Box 2273, Birmingham, AL 35201, or Riverchase United Methodist Church.
