Emmet Sherman Ross, Jr.

Emmet Sherman Ross, Jr., of Birmingham, AL, passed away peacefully at home on Thursday, November 23 at the age of 73.

Emmet was born on January 18, 1950 in Pascagoula, MS, to Sherman and Francis Ross.  He holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Alabama and a Masters degree in Business Administration from University of Alabama at Birmingham.  Emmet earned his CPA certification shortly after graduation from the University of Alabama and continued to work in accounting until his retirement in early 2023.  

Emmet was a veteran of the Vietnam War, having served on the USS Saratoga and was honorably discharged after 5 years of service.

Emmet is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marjorie Ross, and his daughters, Ashley Ross and Allyson Agerton.  He is also survived by his brother, Andy Ross.  He was preceded in death by his parents. 

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, November 30 from 1:00pm to 3:00pm, followed by a Celebration of Life Service at 3:00pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home at 2701 John Hawkins Parkway, Hoover, AL 35244
