Elton Cohen

Mr. Elton H. Cohen, of Hoover, AL, passed away Friday, August 28, 2015, at the age of 87. He was retired from the Social Security Administration. He served in the US Army during the Korean Conflict as a combat veteran. Then he retired from the Army Reserves where he was a nationally recognized marksman. He graduated from Phillip Schuyler High School in Albany, NY and University of Rhode Island. He was active in the Civitans organization for many years.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Ada A. Cohen.
He is survived by his son, Kenrick Cohen (Yasumi), sister, Ruth Mary Spratt, several nieces, nephews and extended family members.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 2, 2015, from 1-3 PM. A funeral service will follow in the chapel at 3 PM. Interment will be Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
