of Hoover, passed away on Friday, February 29, 2008, at the age of 90. She was a member of Jonesboro Church of God. Mrs. Hollis was a compassionate, caring, loving and praying mother who loved her family, friends and community, as well as a fantastic cook. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Louis Hollis, and a son, Timothy Joe. She is survived by three sons, Donald L. Hollis (Janice) of Jemison, John "Tommy" Hollis of Jemison and Steve Hollis of McCalla; three daughters, Jo Ann Hudspeth (Wendell) of Guntersville, Margie Wyatt (Harlan) of Bessemer and Glenda Hollis of McCalla; thirteen grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; one great great-grandson; two brothers, Rev. Carl Miller (Joyce) of Woodstock and Rev. Earl Miller (Dot) of Hueytown; a sister, Ruby Burchfield (Woodrow) of Hoover. The family will receive friends on Monday, March 3, 2008, from 6-8 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, March 4, 2008, at 2 PM in the funeral home chapel, with Bishop Wendell and Jo Ann Hudspeth officiating. Interment will be in Trace Crossing (formerly Mars Hill) Baptist Church Cemetery.
