of Hoover, passed away on September 23, 2005, at the age of 85. She earned her Master's Degree in medicine at Tufts University and later earned another Master's Degree in Library Science from the University of Miami. Ms. Hoatson participated in WWII in Italy and North Africa for the Red Cross. She enjoyed her volunteer work, specifically, at the Ocala Eye Center in Florida, at the Oak Run Retirement Community's Library, as well as, at the library at Galleria Woods Retirement Community. She was preceeded in death by her husband, John R. Hoatson, and a daughter, Sherry Ann Gingras. Ms. Hoatson is survived by a son, Walter Barry Zakutney (Claudia) of TX; a daughter, Rebecca Ellen Stater (Dennis) of NC; a son-in-law, John Gingras of Birmingham; three grandchildren, Michael Gingras (Christie), Daniel Gingras (Lauren) and Bradley Gingras. A memorial service will be held Saturday, September 24, 2005, at 4:30 pm at the Galleria Woods Retirement Community's chapel, with Dr. Jim Savage officiating. A reception, with light refreshments, will follow in the Community Room. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Library Fund at the Galleria Woods Retirement Community, the Women in Military Service for America Memorial Foundation, or to the American Association of University Women's Education Foundation.
