Ella Moore

Ella Frances Moore, 84, of Birmingham, AL, transitioned to heaven on December 5, 2017 in Birmingham, AL. Visitation will be held at the Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home In Hoover, AL on Friday, December 8, 2017 from 11:00-11:30 AM. Burial will follow at the Alabama National Cemetery.

The Memorial Service will be held at Shades Mountain Community Church (formerly SMI) on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 3:30 PM. The sons of Gary and Ella Moore will be officiating.

Ella was born in Middletown, OH to Aubrey and Marcella Mulberry on May 22, 1933. She graduated from Romulus High School and received her Registered Nurse Certification In Detroit, MI in 1954. She was actively involved in multiple ways in the local churches she attended. She led the choirs, played the piano, along with Gary led the Youth Ministry, taught Bible studies, discipled women and young mothers, organized women’s retreats, provided an extraordinary level of hospitality in her home and in her church. She leaves a legacy of love through a multitude of lives touched with her kind words, warm embrace, zany humor and spiritual wisdom.

Ella is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Marcella; two brothers, Aubrey Jr and Lawrence; sister, Lois Marie Marsh.

She is survived by her loving husband Gary Moore of Birmingham; brothers, Gene Mulberry of PA and Neale Mulberry of FL; sons Don (Cindy) Moore of Rowlett, TX, Eric (Cindy) Moore of Canton, MI, Kevin (Judi) Moore of Hoover, AL and Matthew (Cindy) Moore of Chicago, IL; grandchildren, Megan (Joey) Williams, Lincoln (Alana) Hoey Moore, Brittany (Ryan) Gilmore, Mandi Moore, Joshua (Cassie) Moore, Jeremy (Maddie) Moore, Hunter Moore, Josiah Moore, Mikayla Moore and Jesse Moore: great grandchildren, Hudson, Griffin, and Eowyn.
