Elizabeth Underwood

of Maylene, passed away on Friday, March 31, 2006, at the age of 81. She was a member of Union Grove Baptist Church in Jemison and was a loving mother and grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 61 years, Grant Underwood; 4 sons, Tommy Underwood (Glenda) of Hoover, Wayne Underwood (Sue) of Alabaster, Michael Underwood (Zandra) of Vandiver, and David Underwood (Michelle) of Alabaster; a daughter, Karen Scott (Thomas) of Verbena; 11 grandchildren; 9 great grandchildren; a brother, Eugene Stanton of Queen City, TX; and 2 sisters, Mildred Farmer of Atlanta, TX and Mary Rich (Robert) of Queen City, TX. The family will receive friends on Monday, April 3, 2006, from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at 2:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Bro. Wayne Crumpton officiating. Interment will follow in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
