of Hoover, passed away Friday, March 4, 2005 at the age of 55. Liz was born in Bowling Green, KY on September 4, 1949. She moved to Birmingham, AL as a young girl and graduated from Berry High School in 1967. Liz attended the University of Alabama and graduated in 1971, with a BS Degree in education. She received her Master's Degree at UAB. She taught at Midfield Elementary School for 25 years. After retirement, she drove a school bus for the Hoover City School system and the Vestavia School system. She was a member of Shades Crest Baptist Church in the Bluff Park area. Liz was not only a devoted wife and mother, she was also a devoted friend to many. She was loved and will continue to be loved by all those whose lives she touched. She is preceded in death by her mother, Johnnie Kirk. Liz is survived by her husband of 23 years, Dan H. Gentry "Butch"; 2 daughters, Lynsey and Blaire Gentry.The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 6, 2005 from 2-4 pm at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover, AL. Funeral Service will be on Monday, March 7, 2005 at 11:00 am at Shades Crest Baptist Church, with Dr. Dennis W. Foust officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
