Elizabeth Capps

d. March 3, 2008

of Hoover passed away Monday, March 3, 2008 after a valiant, 10 year long battle with breast cancer. She passed away at the age of 65 at home with husband and daughters at bedside. The only child of James Ferrell and Mary Agnes Seaton (both deceased), Elizabeth was a graduate of Phillips High School and the University of Montevallo. She spent her career years as a Medical Technologist for Carraway Hospital, Baptist Medical Centers Montclair, and Laboratory Corporation of America and was a member of the Association of Medical Technologists. She was a former children's Sunday school teacher at Woodlawn United Methodist Church, a member of the Genealogical Society of Alabama, United Daughters of the American Revolution and United Daughters of the Confederacy (Southern Cross Chapter.) She was a Girl Scout Leader for 10 years, a founding member and Treasurer of the original Hoover Homeowners Association, Treasurer of the local neighborhood association, and former President of her local Garden Club. But the roles she cherished most were as wife, mother and grandmother. She is survived by her beloved husband of 40 years, Earl Capps; her daughters, Leigh Elizabeth Capps Stalcup (Bryan) of Charlotte, NC and Kristan Ferrell Capps White (Tim) of Montgomery, AL.; and her seven grandchildren, Julia Leigh White (7), Devin Truth Stalcup (7), Kathryn Elizabeth "Kate" White (4), Haven Grace Stalcup (3), Mason Way Stalcup (2), Edward “Jakob” White (1), and Logan Pierce Stalcup (3 months).
