passed away on Sunday, December 11, 2005, at the age of 77. He was a graduate of Auburn, with a degree in Architecture. Mr. Christian worked with several architectural firms, and retired from Alabama Power Architectual Department. He was an active member and deacon at Philadelphia Baptist Church and was devoted to the Baptist Mission Department. He worked and used his architectual skills in church designs and construction work, which took him to Lima and Trujillo, Peru. Mr. Christian also went to Brazilia, Brazil and to Curacao, Kenya and Mali, Africa. He worked with the Birmingham Baptist Association in various projects and was a member of Civitan International for over forty years. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Grace Christian; two sons, David M. and James S. Christian, both of Birmingham; a grandson, Timothy Dalton Huntress; a brother, Robert Dalton Christian (Ann) of Decatur; three sisters, Allie Butler (John) of Decatur, Bonnie Gaither of Talladega and Jessie Word of Pelham; and devoted nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, December 13, 2005, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, December 14, 2005, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel, with Pastor Barry Bruce officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
