Elbert Lowery

Elbert C. Lowery (Al), age 96, died on September 6, 2024. He was a graduate of Bessemer High School and the University of Alabama. He served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952, and was a veteran of the Korean War. He was employed by Southtrust Bank and retired in 1992 after 30 years of service. Al dearly loved his family, the University of Alabama, and the Atlanta Braves. He is survived by Maria, his beloved wife of 51 years, his son Steven (Cathy), grandson Connor, and daughter Leigh Anne (Kevin). He was a member of Vestavia Hills Baptist Church. Funeral arrangements are set for Thursday, September 12th at 2pm at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover.
