Elbert Derr

of Hoover, passed away on Tuesday, May 9, 2006, at the age of 92. He was a member and deacon of First Presbyterian Church of Hobesound, FL. Mr. Derr worked as an insurance agent for many years and was a member of Alabaster RC Flying Club. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Bethany Taylor Johnson. He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Marjorie Derr; a daughter, Linda Taylor (Skip); a grandson, Ozzie Taylor (Christy); and four great grandchildren. The family will receive friends on Thursday, May 11, 2006, from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150, Hoover. A memorial service will follow at 1:00 p.m., with Dr. Mike McLemore officiating. The family requests donations be made to New Beacon Hospice, 2145 Highland Ave. S., Suite 120, Birmingham, AL 35205.
