Edwin Nichols, Jr.

Edwin Peebles Nichols, Jr. of Birmingham, AL passed away on Thursday, February 27, 2020 at the age of 95. Mr. Nichols was a manager for Bell South Corporation for 40 years. He was a member of The Club, Shriners, Lions Club and Concordia Dance Club. He served in the US Army during World War II. Edwin was preceded in death by his parents, Edwin P. Nichols, Sr. and Eleanor Carlisle Nichols; a brother, Gene Nichols; and a sister, Nina Stevens.

He is survived by his wife, Reyford Nichols; 2 daughters, Carol Hinkle and Joyce Weaver; grandchildren, Reid Hinkle, Jessica Hester (Daniel), Erin Weaver and Ashleigh Hatcher (Chase); great grandchildren, Katie Hester, Cooper Hester, Eli Hatcher and Taylor Hatcher; and numerous nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, March 6, 2020 at 11:00 AM at Oakmont Chapel Presbyterian Church with Pastor Paul Sherwood officiating. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South in Hoover. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Oakmont Chapel Presbyterian Church or your favorite charity of choice
