Edward Smith Sr.

Mr. Edward M. Smith Sr., 65, of Hoover, AL passed away on July 4, 2020. Ed was born on August 20, 1954 in Newark, NJ and resided in Levittown, PA before relocating to Birmingham, AL in 1992. He retired from US Steel after 38 years and spent his retirement enjoying his love of the outdoors surrounded by family.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Eleanor Smith; and brother, Kevin Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Ruth A. Bunting; sons, Edward M. Smith Jr., Vincent Bunting, and Daniel Bunting; daughters, Lindsay Smith and Stacie Carter; grandchildren, Isaiah Cook, Brynlee Morton, Ethan Carter, Daniel K. Bunting Jr., Elizabeth Bunting, and Madelyn Bunting; brother, Phillip Smith (Gerri) and their children, Brian, Phillip, Karen, and Kim; and numerous cousins.

The graveside service will be held on Wednesday, July 8, 2020 at 11am at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South in Hoover, AL with Chaplain Bart Kingsley officiating.
