Edith Rambeau

Mrs. Edith Gay Rambeau, of Philadelphia, PA, passed away Wednesday, June 6, 2012, at the age of 100. She was a graduate of Overbrook High School and Westchester University. She received her master's in psychology from Temple University. She started her career as a preschool teacher, then became a social worker and finished her career as a reading consultant. She is survived by a daughter, Gwendolyn Henson Young, a brother, Samuel Gay, two grandchildren, Carlton and Scott Young, five great grandchildren, Alexander, Matthew, Sean, Christian, and Ariana Young, three nieces, Marilyn Edney (Willie), Barbara Blackshear (David), and Louise Young, three nephews, Samuel Gay, Jr, Glen Gay, and Donald Jackson, great nieces, great nephews, cousins, family and friends. The family will receive friends Saturday, June 9, 2012, from 10-11 AM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 11 AM with interment in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
