Edgar "Gary" Grimes, Jr.

Edgar (Gary) Sargent Grimes, Jr. went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on September 17, 2020. He was married to Laura Schultz Grimes. He is survived by his two daughters Laurie Fargason (Bill), Linda Moore (Wade), three grandchildren Will (Molly), Rebekah, Brian, one step grandchild Lindsay (Nathan), and one great grandchild (Forrest).

Gary was a member of Lake Crest Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL and a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Alexander CIty, AL and St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, FL.

Gary graduated from New York University with a BS in Electrical Engineering. He was an active member of IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) and IES (Illuminating Engineering Society) and worked for Sperry Microwave in Clearwater, FL and Holophane Company of Johns Mansville in Hollywood, FL.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Lake Crest Presbyterian Church in Birmingham, AL, First Presbyterian Church in Alexander CIty, AL, or St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church in Hollywood, FL.

A celebration of his life will be held at a future date due to Corona virus restrictions.
