Edgar Young

Edgar Earl "Eddie" Young, born April 12, 1939 age 85 died Friday May 24, 2024 at his home in Helena Alabama surrounded by family. Eddie is survived by his wife of 65 years, Shirley Whittington Young, son, Scott Young, daughter-in-law Jill Rollins Young, daughter, Nikki Young West, son-in-law Joey West, grandchildren, Everett Young (Bailey Kay Young), Abby West, Davis Young, Jack West, Lily West and great grandson Elliott Young. Eddie is preceded in death by his parents Edgar Lawson Young and Ethel Walker Young. He is also survived by his sister, Betty Young Caruthers (William deceased) of Wildwood, Fl., his brother, Neil Young (Marie) of Coaling, Alabama as well as several cousins, nephews and nieces.

Eddie, graduate of Brookwood High School in 1957, was born and lived the majority of his life in Abernant, Alabama where he owned and operated Young Lumber products. His love was promoting the education of his children and grandchildren and spending time in their numerous activities.

Services will be officiated by Jeremy Kreider at Currie Jefferson Funeral Home in Hoover, Alabama on Saturday, June 1st. Visitation will be 9-10 am with graveside service to follow.
