E. Russell Rigg Jr.

E. Russell Rigg JR, "Rusty" passed away on September 7, 2024, at the age of 80.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Maxine Roper Rigg and Emmett Russell Rigg, Sr. and his brother, Larry Wayne Rigg.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Shirley Holmes Rigg; his son and daughter-in-law, David Russell and Kimberly Kirkpatrick Rigg; his daughter, Kimberly Ann Rigg; and his granddaughter, Hannah Elizabeth Rigg. His brother and sister-in-law Greg and Amanda Rigg.

Rusty grew up in Memphis, Tennessee. He graduated from White Station High School in Memphis, Tennessee in 1962. He attended Memphis State and earned an associate degree from Jefferson State Community College and graduated with honors.

He lived in Helena, Alabama for almost 40 years. He worked for Compass Bank in Birmingham, Alabama for 17 years where he served as a Vice President. He retired from the banking industry after 40 years of service.

He was an Army veteran, serving in the Tennessee and Alabama National Guard.

He was an avid bowler and Men's Tennessee State Bowling Champion for 1965-1966.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Helena Methodist in Helena, Alabama or American Village in Montevallo, Alabama would be appreciated.

Visitation will be held at 10 am on Saturday, September 21, 2024, Church, at Helena Methodist Church followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 am.
