E. Lacy Pulliam, of Hoover, passed away Monday, March 13, 2017, at the age of 82. He graduated from Winston County High School and was president of the Senior Class, captain of both the football and basketball teams, and was the proud recipient of the Babe Ruth Athletic Award. Lacy retired from Vulcan Materials after 39 years of service. Additionally, he served on the board of Vulcan Materials Credit Union, was a member of both the Management Club and the Retirement Club, and was a member of the Masonic Lodge.
He is preceded in death by his brother, Lee Pulliam; and 2 sisters, Mildred Pugh and Juel Holland. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Jean Walley Pulliam; his daughter, Kristi Pulliam Hagen (Brad); 2 grandchildren, Christopher and Zachary; 2 sisters, June Donaghe and Wynelle Martin; and a number of nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 12-2 PM, Saturday, March 18, 2017, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy 150 in Hoover. Funeral will follow at 2 PM in the chapel. Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
