was born March 15, 1922, to Clarence and Ilo (Kolling) Boltz in Frazee, Minnesota and moved with his parents to Coeur'D'Alene, Idaho where he was raised and attended school. Prior to WWII he worked for Lockheed Aircraft Corporation at Burbank, California and Boeing Airplane Company at Seattle, Washington. Duane served during WWII in the Army Air Corps, returning to Coeur'D'Alene after the War. He was a Flight Instructor and Commercial Pilot. He worked for Kaiser Aluminum, Olin Aluminum, Alcan Aluminum, Revere Aluminum and moved to Anniston with Huron Valley Steel Corporation where he worked and retired. Duane was a member of The Elks Lodge #189, The Moose Lodge #1669 and The American Legion Post 0026 at Anniston. Survivors include his daughter, Colleen Kennedy (Jim) of Birmingham, Alabama; a brother, Bill of Coeur'D'Alene, Idaho; two sisters, Eileen Robertson of Oakhurst, Californina and Shirley Winebarger of Coeur'D'Alene, Idaho; granddaughters, Kelly and Katie; and many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends on Monday, February 21, 2005, from 6 to 8 p.m., at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, Hwy. 150, Hoover, Alabama. Funeral services will be on Tuesday, February 22, 2005, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Rev. Bill Reed officiating, followed by a committal service at 2 p.m. in the mausoleum at Forestlawn Gardens in Anniston, Alabama.
