Dr. Seth Poole

Dr. Seth W. Poole, of Alabaster, went home to be with his Lord on March 22nd, after a brief illness. He was born in Abanda, AL, on December 7, 1928. After serving in the U.S.A.A.F. during the Korean War, he attended and graduated from the University of Alabama Medical School and practiced urology from 1964-1999. After retirement, he continued to work until 2016. He is preceded in death by his youngest son, Tyler Poole.

Dr. Poole is survived by his wife of 36 years, Mary Jo Poole; his sons, George, Seth Jr., Laine, Alan and Bryant Poole, and Ward Whittington; his daughters, Beth Poole and Angie Segars. He was proud of and loved his 13 grandchildren and 2 great-grandchildren. Dr. Poole loved the Lord with all of his heart and was a lifelong student of the Bible.

The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 28, 2017, from 12-1 PM at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150. Dr. Poole's Celebration of Life service will follow in the Chapel with interment at Alabama National Cemetery at 2:45 PM.
