Henry T. Scott Jr. of Inverness, passed away August 2, 2010. He was born in Houston, TX. A lifelong resident of Birmingham, Henry devoted his 40 year working life to the establishment of Chiropractic in Alabama, holding Alabama license #6 and honored as a Lifetime Achiever in the AL Chiropractic Hall of Fame. David Lipscomb and Samford University, prepared him for his goal of his degree from Palmer College of Chiropractic, Davenport, IA. Henry was devoted to his country in service in WWII and assigned to communications and armament in Manila Bay. His devotion continued through his life as he was wed 54 years to his loving wife, Evelyn Harris Scott. Three loving children, Linda Waldrop (Van) of Dallas, TX, Tommy Scott (Lynn) of Chelsea and John Scott (Rita) of Atlanta. Blessed by 7 grandchildren Andrew and Christopher Waldrop, Tyler and Blair Scott, Christina, Caroline and Sterling Scott. Son of the late Henry T. Scott Sr. and Louise C. Scott of Birmingham. Survived by his Brother, Ralph Scott (Sharon) and preceded in death by brother, James Scott. An 18 year faithful member of Vestavia Hills Church of Christ and the son of the founders of 77th Street Church of Christ, Henry spent his life walking as Christ walked and an enthusiastic positive motivator promoting what is good inside each of us. An example of strength and endurance and a quest for life were examples he taught to many and relayed to his family. We rejoice as Henry took his last journey home with dignity and grace. A celebration of his contribution to life will be shared by Harold Comer and Jason Cicero, Friday August 6th, 2010, at Vestavia Hills Church of Christ. Family will receive guest beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12 p.m. Interment at Jefferson Memorial Gardens in Trussville. Currie-Jefferson officiating.
