Dorothy Sampson

of Marietta, formerly of Birmingham, passed away Friday, July 11, 2008, at the age of 82. Mrs. Sampson served our country in Army Air Force during WWII. She was a past matron of Eastern Star, and was a very active member of Bethel Baptist Church. Mrs. Sampson especially loved teaching children's church. She is survived by her husband of more than 60 years, Floyd E. Sampson; two sons, Michael Sampson and David Sampson (Libby); a daughter, Margaret Sampson Merrett (Jack); a sister, Margaret Starnes (Floyd); and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:00 PM, Wednesday, July 16, 2008, at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home on Hwy 150 in Hoover. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South, Rev. Dewey Mayfield officiating.
