Dorothy Knight Quinnelly, of Hoover, went to be with the Lord on June 27, 2016. She was born in Hamilton, AL, on November 25, 1925, to the late Robert and Annie Knight, and was one of seven children. She worked for the Veterans Administration in Memphis, Montgomery and Birmingham before she became a full-time stay at home mother. Throughout her years, she was actively involved in her church, Bluff Park United Methodist. She loved to play bridge, was a member of Regent Forest Garden Club where she was awarded Yard of the Month numerous times and participated in many other civic activities. She is preceded in death by her husband, George; and six siblings, Wade Knight, Alma Clark, Stella Cantrell, Eula Mae Webster, Robbie McRight and Sue Donnelly. She is survived by her son, David Lea Quinnelly (Tina); her grandson, Philip Lea Quinnelly (Kara); and granddaughter, Brooke Elizabeth Quinnelly (Caleb).
Funeral services will be held at Currie-Jefferson Funeral Home, located on Hwy. 150 in Hoover, on Thursday, June 30, 2016. Visitation will begin at 12:00 p.m. and the service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Jefferson Memorial Gardens, South.
